Scottish Cottages

All our Scottish cottages are comfortably furnished and as well equipped as space allows. Nearly all properties have a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. A few Scottish cottages have quite small kitchens where we simply cannot fit a dishwasher or washing machine. Each property has an open fire or wood/coal burning stove and a garden area with outdoor furniture.

We welcome dogs in our Scottish cottages, for which there is a small charge, and we allow a maximum of two well behaved dogs per property.

Our self-catering holiday Scottish cottages are restored crofters’ cottages, Victorian farmhouses and former estate houses. These Scottish cottages are scattered all over the island and most have spectacular sea or loch views. A couple of cottages are nestled in amongst the woodland gardens of Colonsay House. There are also a number of beautiful apartments located in a south facing wing of Colonsay House, a pretty Georgian house built in the Palladian style.

All bed linen and towels are included in the rental price. Electricity and coal are paid for separately. There is a laundrette at Colonsay House available free to our guests of our Scottish cottages.

There is free WIFI access for all our guests at The Colonsay hotel. There is also a tennis court available free to our guests every morning at Colonsay House.

We do not provide TVs because there is no terrestrial TV signal on the island. We have found however that, on the whole, our guests are delighted to turn to games and reading on a rainy day. Every house has a selection of games and books.
